Goupil, a success story...

In 1996, two young businessmen embark on a new creative adventure.
Pascal DUCLOS (45), Managing Director of GOUPIL Industrie, is an electrical engineer. He worked with Schneider Electrics in Paris, where he managed projects for control software for electric motors.



Thierry ZERBATO (42), General Manager, is experienced in company creation with Delta Manlift, manufacturer of elevating work platforms used on large industrial sites.
As early as 1996, they worked on a commercial vehicle designed specifically to be just electric.
Making a clean sweep of what had been done and said before on the electric car, they went with the rustic but tested technology of the forklift truck to develop a vehicle combining the advantages of the electric motor and the performances required for a commercial vehicle.

Starting from scratch, the company worked on several versions before launching in 2001 a vehicle functioning 100% on electric batteries and capable of interesting a market generally disappointed by their experience with electric cars. The Goupil convinced by its qualities and reliability when nobody believed any longer in electric vehicles.
Pragmatic and close to the operators, our sales people have multiplied field tests and shaken up preconceived ideas to introduce the Goupil and reassure about its performances.

At the same time, the Engineering Department has improved the vehicle and its options to match customers’ requirements.

Today, Goupil Industrie, this is:

A team
> An efficient production tool.
The company is established in South Western France in a new factory of 7 000m² since July 2009 with a capacity of 5000 vehicles a year.

> 100 employees with an average age of 34. The company workforce has tripled in 2 years.

> A production team of 60 people for the assembly and fitting of the vehicle.

> An Engineering Department made of
8 engineers working on the design of the vehicles and of their options. Thanks to this innovation policy, many patents are registered every year.



An International network:

A presence in 18 countries, through nearly 40 highly skilled distributors, you can find a Goupil dealer in most of the European countries.

All our distributors, close to the customers can arrange test drives and advise you on the best options for your application.
The Service is provided through trained technicians, able to supply any spare part within a short time. Our distributors also are able to provide leasing and full maintenance contracts solutions for your fleet of Goupil vehicles.
